If you reviewed our other project case studies, you will see words (adjectives) like interactive, motion, subtle animations, etc. The design of this website combines all of those attributes into one with a fully pre-loaded website. The design of Elegant Orchid provides a classy and minimalist appeal requested by our client. The link strategy and animated pages entertain the customer as they follow the ordering menu and moving pages.
Our client requested for an ordering/sign-up section on his site, where users could sign up to become a member. However, the owner of Elegant Orchid did not want his website to process credit payments online. In turn, after the membership process was submitted online, the owner will then send an immediate invoice to the new member. This is a very affordable and simple route for someone sitting on the fence between a full-blown eCommerce website and an information site.
AJAX
Using our favorite pre-load tool (AJAX) and some basic Javascript, we created a fully functional website that loads merely one time. After 2-seconds of being on the home page, you will experience the difference. Pages will appear practically instant and just about every link, button, and page loads with subtle animations. This not only provides a satisfied user experience, but it will also prove to boost sales and provide class to the Elegant Orchid brand.
lightbox
We implemented a lightbox for the contact page to the website. This was provided for an immediate page load and was able to integrated smoothly with the AJAX technology, explained above. The lightbox also includes a link to email the Elegant Orchid administration with the click of a button. The overall reason we decided to go with a lightbox over a page, is to avoid users leaving Elegant Orchid due to a confusing contact form and/or slow page loads.
