JLP Design:
the story:
The owner of JLP Design requested a clean and minimalist site to really emphasize her interior design work. She also wanted to revolutionize her industry by offering interior design packages to her users and clients, remotely, and 100% online. Our creative team sat and brainstormed for hours upon hours on the appropriate way to effectively do this for JLP Design.
Our team finally developed what we feel is the perfect solution for how to handle JLP Design's online interior design packages. Using a lightbox, AJAX, and a photo-uploading plug-in, our studio customized a dynamic questionnaire that allows the user to send JLP Design their interior design dreams with just a few clicks of the mouse button.
Website Features: The following custom options were requested by our client.
portfolio gallery ajax blog platform flash implementation social media lightbox ecommerce closeportfolio gallery
JLP Design's portfolio gallery uses thumbnail images to allow the user to view the projects from a distance. By clicking any one of the thumbnails, a full on gallery is launched complete with a description and unlimited picture count for each of the different projects JLP Design has worked on.
AJAX
The custom-designed questionnaire form we built for JLP Design uses AJAX to load content into the lightbox. This was created to allow users to submit their interior design requests directly to JLP Design. JLP Design then uses that submitted data and the user information in order to build the clients dream home.
blog platform
When you are an expert at your craft, a blog can be a wonderful marketing tool for both your business and your website. It allows you to provide your audience and clients with tips, tutorials, as well as insightful information about your industry and what your passion is. What's more, each of the blog posts boosts your search engine rankings, making your website and business easier to find by potential visitors.
flash implementation
If you visit the homepage of JLP Design, you will see rotating floor-plans of a few of the company's projects. Flash is an unobtrusive technology that lends a rich user-experience, and gives developers the ability to create very interactive and fluid animations which only increase a website's aesthetic appeal.
social media
Social media integration is a very inexpensive means to acquire additional brand awareness and affinity. Like with JLP Design's blog, social media was implemented within the site to give the users and fans of JLP Design the ability to interact with the brand, and gain helpful tools given to them by experts at heir fields.
lightbox
A lightbox was the best method we derived to provide JLP's users with the ability to sit and send their dream room/home to JLP Design's creative team. We could have embedded the questionnaire on the page or given the user several pages to navigate through, but that would have lessened the ease of use, and completely ruined the "above-the-fold" design of the entire website.
ecommerce
Though not a very robust solution, JLP Design's eCommerce platform is perfect for exactly what they need to use it for. Once the files and information have been submitted to the client, and the creative team has had a chance to consult with the customer, a simple link with a PayPal request can be sent directly from JLP's website allowing payment to be sent to JLP Design, and the order/dream to be fulfilled.
