the story:

Being a creative agency - we enjoy working with unique thinkers and their original ideas. I walked audio tours is exactly that. This website provides one of the most interesting travel resources. The entirety of the website is based around audio files that play a real-time walking guide that tours the highlights and attractions of major cities. A few of the attractions include: historical facts, architectural features, famous crimes/haunts, and much more. Just imagine being guided through a tour in Boston and hearing that you are walking over a serious crime scene from the past.

For iWalkedAudioTours.com we wanted a clean and smooth feel that could be both easy to use on the front end (user), yet easy to manage on the backend (admin). This website uses Javascript and AJAX to swap out the audio files at real time, quickly and efficiently (by admin). Designed to keep users focus on the media player, this website design commands the eyesight and mouse cursor right to the center of your browser window.

Website Features: The following custom options were requested by our client.

video player

I Walked Audio Tours was developed with a custom content management system, for easy admin modifications, content changes, and video uploads. With that said, the admin staff will never have to worry about paying a web company for adding more videos. Its capabilities are endless, including the functionality to upload and insert embedded YouTube videos with the click of a button. Check it out for yourself by clicking the play button on the video player. Sit back and enjoy a walk through the streets of New York City.

AJAX

This website is just another example of our development team using a front-end technology called AJAX. We want users to enjoy each website we design. With a quick and immediate load, smooth flowing graphics, and a site filled with subtle animations and rollovers - we hope you feel the difference. This is only possible by a little function called AJAX.

blog platform

We created a custom blog to follow the design and current brand of I Walked Audio Tours. It contains great content about each city and follows restaurants, shopping, and nightlife in the same professional brand language throughout the entirety of the website. The blog is fully functional for users and easy to make updates, edits, and post feeds by the administration.

social media

I Walked Audio Tours has its own personality and feel. Plus, I Walked Audio Tours will increase the library of guided tours and content within the website. Social media integration is a great way for I Walked to connect to users and fans for feedback and travel suggestions. Our designers followed the look of their brand as we designed the social media icons. We also added slight animated roll-overs for a tasteful look (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc).

ecommerce

Not only does I Walked Audio Tours have an interactive purpose behind it - the website accepts payments. Similar to the website, the online store is fully scalable so that the owners of I Walked Audio Tours can input more videos as the business grows with time.
